Publicity chair Mike Livingston will lead a group of RCC members to photograph one or more installations of the Desert X art exhibition. More details to follow as we get closer, including images of the 2025 installations.
Desert X is a collection of curated art installations erected at different locations throughout the Coachella Valley. This experience offers many opportunities to play with composition, apertures, shutter speed, and depth of field to capture shapes, patterns, colors, and more.
We will gather at the Redlands Coco’s Restaurant parking lot, near the corner of Tennessee Street and Colton Avenue ( 1140 W Colton Ave, Redlands, CA 92374). At 7:00 am sharp, we’ll carpool or self-drive to our first destination.
After spending 15 to 30 minutes at the first location, we’ll head to the next one, with attention to optimizing our use of the early morning light. After we finish shooting, we might have brunch/lunch nearby.

Desert X runs from March 8 to May 11. This field trip will take us to very few of the exhibits. I encourage you to check out others later on your own
