Insects and Plant Photography, Guided Hike

Join us for a fun day of discovery and creativity on our Insects and Plant Photography Field Trip! Elba Mora, Outdoor Education Director with the Wildlands Conservancy, will be our field trip guide. The Oak Glen Preserve offers beautiful landscapes teeming with a variety of insects and plants. This field trip will take place at the botanical garden, providing you with numerous opportunities to capture stunning images of butterflies, beetles, and other insects in their natural habitats. Explore the local flora, ranging from delicate wildflowers to majestic towering trees.

The guided hike is less than a mile on fairly even gravel terrain. You can hike longer on your own if you like. Bring your camera! The Monarch butterflies are a flutter!

No Cost.

Meet at the Oak Glen Preserve Entrance Kiosk
39611 Oak Glen Rd, Oak Glen, CA. 92399 [Google Maps]

Bring the usual items to make your day comfortable (water, hat, snack) and your camera gear. If you have a long lens or a macro lens, bring them along with a tripod. Charge your batteries and your camera batteries and get ready for lots of eye candy!

Feel free to stay as long as you wish. There is plenty to see and do, and with Los Rios Rancho next door, there is food readily available.
