The Joy of Symmetry in Documenting & Creatively Re-Imagining the Natural & Constructed Environment
The History of Rick Hulbert’s Personal Photography portrays a passion for Symmetry. His visual presentation will explore the reasons and rationale for why the element of symmetry is appreciated throughout the arts and sciences. His presentation explores how photography can creatively document various forms of symmetry in the designed and constructed environment. Rick will demonstrate how creativity can capitalize on people’s enjoyment of symmetry. Rick will explain, via examples, how “Curiosity” and “Play,” along with a dose of “Inspiration” can result in some creative uses of symmetry in artistic photography. Rick’s presentation is designed as a learning experience to be enjoyed by all photographers, regardless of one’s level of experience and expertise.
Zoom meeting opens at 6:30 pm for a social time before the presentation. Visitors are always welcome.
Presented by Rick Hulbert
Rick Hulbert’s photography is informed from his 4-decade background as a Professional Architect and Urban Designer. He is a “Life Member” of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and a “Fellow” of The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Rick has lectured and taught photography at Simon Fraser University, Langara College and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and has led multi-day photo-workshops throughout Europe and North America. His teachings reflect his knowledge of the History of the 2-Dimensional Arts of Drawing and Painting along with the Sciences of Human Vision. Rick was one of only 2 photographers from North America invited to attend and display his Fine Art images at the World Art Games held in Bratislava, Slovakia where he also addressed the global group of artists who participated. rickhulbertphotography.com
